Insurance & Risk
General Liability
Protection for the everyday risks of running a business.
General liability insurance covers third-party claims — a customer slips in your shop, your crew damages a client’s property, or someone claims your advertising harmed them. Many landlords, clients, and contracts require it before you can start work.

Simple process
How it works
- 1
Share your operations
What you do, where you do it, and your rough revenue. That’s what carriers use to rate general liability.
- 2
We match you with carriers
Different carriers favor different industries. We find the ones that want your type of business.
- 3
Get certificates when you need them
Once you’re covered, we help you produce certificates of insurance for landlords, clients, and general contractors.
Common questions
Is general liability required by law?
Usually not — but it’s often required by contracts. Landlords, clients, and general contractors commonly ask for a certificate of insurance before you can sign a lease or start a job.
What does general liability actually cover?
Bodily injury and property damage you cause to others, plus personal and advertising injury claims. It does not cover your own employees (that’s workers’ comp), your own property, or professional mistakes.
How much coverage do I need?
Most small businesses start with $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate, because that’s what most contracts ask for. Your contracts and your risk exposure should drive the final number.
Can I bundle it with workers’ comp?
Often, yes. Many businesses carry both, and placing them together can simplify billing and renewals. Ask us when you request your quote.
